Multiplication?

I was having coffee with Amie the other day and she mentioned something that got me thinking. Three Nails can be taken anywhere. We are about being the church and in doing so we never have to move on. Here is what I mean…with the traditional model of church there is a focus on the sunday gathering and if a pastor leaves or if someone moves, things will never be the same. We at Three Nails don’t have to worry about that, we are always changing and always focused on our community, not on our worship. Whether it is a multiplying cell we are a part of, a new take on sunday worship, or a new worship gathering all together (more on this last one later), we are constantly in flux.
Amie’s comments helped me to envision a bigger picture than before. What we offer at Three Nails (as much as I hate the give/take mentality) is community and a supportive structure for that community. Your cell group doesnt have to be in Pittsburgh or even Wester Pennsylvania. The idea of a non-geographical church is that it can go anywhere. If someone moves away, they can start a Three Nails cell wherever they go. There is nothing to stop the spread of a community like that. We would have to rethink how we offered ideas and support and materials for cell groups that were not in immediate driving distance, but it is more than feasible. I want to see this happen. I want to see the inbreaking of the kingdom in ways that we have never conceived them.
Like pollen in the wind, let us be taken to the ends of the earth, carrying with us the truth of the gospel…Amen.

Hey Kris,
Wow this post really got me thinking and excited. I have spoken with Amie somewhat about this also, but seeing it written down really hit me about the opportunities of spreading cells groups and community. The Three Nails community was and continues to be such a blessing to me (though I am far away) and I find myself deeply craving and praying daily for similar purposeful community. I would realy like to pray about and be in conversation with you about the possibility of starting a Three Nails cell in New Orleans.
Peace,
Katie
